Newbie here! Also, I'm a cake/cookie decorator wannabe, but I have no clue where to begin. Now that my kids are getting older, it'd be nice to create some memorable birthday/holiday sweets. Any tips or ideas on how this newbie should begin?
you should take the wilton classes. they teach you all the basics
I agree, take the Wilton classes. I learned quite a bit from them and enjoyed it! Plus CC gets you hooked and you learn so much from hanging out here!!!
(kayla1505....you go belly dancer....me too!!!)
Wilton classes all the way. The are not to expensive and teach you a lot.

Check your local craft stores and community college for cake decorating classes. That'll get you started. I've learned so-o-o much from this site, but having a base is extremely helpful!
