Hi All,

I can't get Meringue Powder here so can I substitute it for an egg white? icon_confused.gif If a recipe asks for 1Tbls of Meringue powder how many egg whites should I use?

I'm very interested to know also about using meringue powder instead
of fresh egg whites. If anyone knows how to do this please leave a comment.

The wilton meringue powder offers this subsitution:

Can be used as an egg white substitute in baking.
2 tsp. Meringue + 2 Tbsp. Water = 1 Egg White

So, 1 T meringue powder is the same as 1 1/2 egg whites (3 tsp = 1 T). You'd want to decrease your liquids accordingly.

Here's the link: http://www.wilton.com/yearbook/productinfo/meringue.cfm

Wilton does ship overseas....but I'd guess they'd charge a lot for shipping. Sorry. icon_sad.gif
