I need to make this cake...(came from the gallery...sorry I can't find it now to tell you the username) for an office bridal shower. The couple's colors are teal and pink. How would you incorporate teal into this?
One thought was, what about no flowers on the sides and replace them with vertical teal stripes down the edges.
Or I considered adding teal brush embroidery flowers either to the pink background or the white portion. I worry pink and teal will look Hawaiian or something! lol
I feel like this is getting really colorful for a bridal shower.
I think I would keep the pink and white just like the picture, but add teal flowers in place of the white flowers around the top edge.
I think I would make the dot border on the top picture teal and make the flower centers teal. Other than that I would leave it as is. That is how I picture it in my head anyway.
I was thinking of a pale (pastel) teal for the dots and flower centers but it could work in reverse -- background teal with pink dots and flower centers.
Funny you should ask! First I did the box in teal with white basketweave and decided I didn't like it. I scraped off the teal, smoothed the basketweave and ended up with pink again! I really wasn't a fan of the cake, but everyone seemed to like it, especially the dress. It's in my gallery, but I will try to post it here for you. Thanks for asking!
Turned out great, but what happened with the teal..... I thought it had to be both colors.......
Very Pretty! It turned out beautifully. I am lucky in being a hobby decorator as I often will be given a theme but the actual design is completely up to me. Just the way I like it!
