9"6" Or 8"5" ??

I'm doing a cake for a 40th anniversary for 12 people.

It's a topsy-turvy so part of it will be cut away--do you think a 9"6" would be overkill? the 8"5" just looks small to me, though I know it will feed plenty.

Well, if you know the smaller will feed plenty but still want to go for the punch of a bigger cake, sure why not?

Yeah, that's what I figured too. What's a couple extra inches of cake batter!

I'm always asking no-brainer questions because I tend to overthink!
