I found one that uses a box of yellow cake mix, 1 pint heavy cream, 1 can sweetened condensed milk, and 1 can evaporated milk. Make the cake per the box directions in a 13x9 pan. While cake is baking combine the creme, evap milk, and sweetened condensed milk togther. Once the cake comes out, poke it with a skewer or dowel all over, then pour the milk "syrup" over it and let sit so it can all be absorbed. I usually just leave it in the pan, cut servings out as needed and serve with whipped cream, and sometimes strawberries.

I've tried several scratch recipes, but this one is DH's favorite. He likes it even better than most of the Tres Leches cakes from the multitude of bakeries that sell it here in El Paso.

Edited to add: The original recipe I found says you can add rum to the milk "syrup" if you like. I haven't, just cause DH doesn't like alcohol. icon_rolleyes.gif
