I see all these wonderful black and white wedding cakes with the stencilled sides, and I would love to give it a try. How is it done? Do they just hold the stencil up to the side of the cake and spatula RI into it? What is the consistency of the RI? How do you keep the stencil from running into the previously done stencil?

Any and all help would be appreciated!!! I'd love to order a few of those stencils from Designer Stencils, but I want to be sure I can do this effect first!

TIA!

I recently used a stencil for the first time and was amazed at how easy it was to do!

Wait until your icing crusts then lightly hold your stencil against it. Take whatever icing (I used BC) with a spatula or a putty scraper and wipe it across your stencil and carefully lift the stencil off. That's it!

Good Luck
