I want to do the bottom cake on this design for a first communion cake due on Sat. I feel my decorating capabilities are not up to par to do this.. but maybe if I had some tips on this style I might get close...

can someone tell me if you think this has a "lid" or is it fondant painted (the pink top)? And then the embellishments around the "lid" area.. would that be royal painted gold or could I do it in little tiny fondant balls and paint them while on the cake..

I know the picture is small but that is all I could get...

She has beautiful cakes... I so admire her icon_smile.gif

Its hard to see the gold balls from the pic, but it could be royal icing painted with gold, or they could be dragees. As far as the lids, they definately look like an extra piece of pink fondant laid over the top of the cake.
