I need to wrap fondant around the sides of a 10" cake covering everything except the top. Will the fondant stay on or will it come off after awhile? It will be put over a non crusting chocolate buttercream.
I want to know how to do that too!!!
If its a round cake measure around the cake and the height and roll a piece of fondant to that size. The buttercream will make the fondant stick to it.
If its a square cake you can still do it the same, or measure each side separately and attach a piece for each side, though this is more time consuming and not really necessary unless you want square corners, instead of slightly rounded ones.
The fondant will stay in place as long as you want it to.
