I have a request for a cake for someone with corn allergies. I have the cake part figured out but I need an icing recipe that does not have corn syrup. I havent been making my own icing, so I need some help. Thanks in advance.

just make a buttercream frosting no corn syrup in that..... do make sure the powdered sugar is Cand H or Domino I believe they have no cornstarch in the powdered sugar just read the label

Read the label on the Crisco and make sure corn is not listed in the vegetable oil you may need to use all butter if it is.

My husband is also allergic to corn. Powdered sugar and corn syrup does not bother him. I use a regular yellow cake mix ( DH usually)and buttercream frosting and it does not bother him. Hope this helps.

You can make powdered sugar by putting regular sugar in the blender and grinding the heck out of it. VitaMix blenders work best for this. I do this with fructose, since I can't find a source for powdered fructose.
