Fondant Or Rolled Buttercream...

Hi..

I have lots of cookies to do and I usually use Satin Ice and royal for accents..

I have been wanting to try rolled buttercream, but just think it is so much easier to buy the fondant..

Who has used fondant, and then switched to rolled buttercream.. did you use the recipe for rolled buttercream from CC??

I switched from fondant to rolled buttercream -- still use for cookies. i use my own recipe.

this is my recipe for rolled buttercream
Rolled Buttercream
1 cup shortening
1 cup light shortening (syrup)
½ tspn flavoring (butter, etc)
1 tspn clear vanilla extract
2 pounds confectioners sugar
½ tspn popcorn salt

i really like it.

there have been a number of recent posts about the rolled buttercream. if you do a search for it, you'll find a lot of discussions about it.
