gosh it's hard to choose but here they are-'kay i still can't figure out how to do this or my pics are too big if you want to see in my photos it's the batman/superman cuz i made little RI toppers out of the symbols

I am very much a beginner in anything cake decorating wise. My family loves to sit and watch those cake challenges on the food network, and we get tons of ideas. This year since mom bought me this cake decorating set years ago I decided to try my hand at it for my kids. I did both designs in one week, sort of last minute birthday's for school, and I think I did ok except for the fact that I used canned icing and I think it was to soft and mushy, I'm thinking I should be making my own icing so it's stiffer and not just coloring the canned stuff.

You all make me feel so inadequate. At the moment I have watermelon cupcakes cooling (waiting to be iced for a July 5th party). I thought, "How clever... watermelon cupcakes ...typical Fourth of July party fare!" After seeing all of your favorites, I need to just go buy a watermelon and save my time!

I am inspired now which is good I have a baby shower coming up. My 14 yo suggested I do the flowers with the baby faces in a planter box and combine a couple of your ideas.

Those are great Kim!! They'd be a great compliment to the sunflower cake I did (in my pix) for a summer party. You can also change the petals to white and the centers to pink or blue or lavender for a spring garden party. Ohhhh, the ideas are endless!! Great work!
