I got an email from a lady today wanting me to replicate this cake for a her son getting married in July.... I hate to say I can do it without knowing what others of you thought about how they did the silver screw attachments on the side? Do you think the silver trim is ribbon? Any help would be great!

oh if you scroll down a bit you can choose to view in medium or original, original is the best to see the detailing... TFL

The silver trim sure looks like ribbon. It could easily be done with fondant, though. Using highlighter dust or luster dust to get the shine. The screws look like to me (could totally be wrong) like sucker sticks painted silver with fondant of gumpaste balls wrapped around them. They were probably dried ahead of time and then attached to the cake with some gum glue. That's how I'd attach them, anyway.
