I'm holding a cake tasting open day at my house, I've invited my friends to come and taste some new recipes that I would like to try out and get opinions on.

I've chosen 6 new recipes but I'm struggling with what filling I should put with each cake. Here are the cakes that I've chosen please can anyone help me with good fillings to go with them, as you can see I've already got 2 fillings.

1. Martha Stewarts Hummingbird cake
2. White almond sour cream
3. chocolate cake
4. strawberry cake (strawberry buttercream filling)
5. Lemon cake (lemon buttercream filling)
6. Vanilla butter cake

Thanx
Rachel

I love raspberry with chocolate cake - either raspberry whipped cream or raspberry buttercream. Or you could go really decadent with whipped chocolate ganache. There is also an AMAZING and super easy cookies n cream recipe here on CC in the recipe section.

Hmmm....many flavors work really well with the white almond sour cream...you coud do maybe an amaretto filling to compliment the almond flavor for something different.
