You can do a search on communion cake and you will see many examples.........HTH

Sharron from sugarshack has very beautiful communion cake ideas. She has inspired me greatly.
Like the previous poster said..google image search communion cakes and you should find quite a few pics. HTH
if you click on the GALLERIES tab on cake central, it will bring up a bunch of subjects. One of the subjects is First communion cakes. they have lots and lots of ideas!!!
I have seen beautiful crosses done, also tiered cakes like wedding cakes for first communion. It would depend on how many people you need to feed and how comfortable you are with what skill level you are at.
