I came upon this idea when I was making the butter cream icing for a wedding cake recently. When I went to the fridge to get the milk for the recipe I saw my French vanilla coffee creamer and decided to try it as a substitute for the milk. It gave the icing a very nice flavor and since there are so many different flavors of creamer available, I don't think I will ever just use milk again! Has anyone ever tried this before?
Oh, yes! I've tried almost all of them and like most. Especially fun around the holidays with the specialty flavors they come out with! My favorite is the hazelnut. Good find.
WOW !!!! Haven't tried this yet, but think I most definitely will be soon. I have 2 birthday cakes coming up and just may have to try. Can you color the icing just as well using the flavored creamer I wonder, or will I have to use a bit of extra coloring?
