Hey,

I use Earlene's servings list and have a question. It's probably stupid but just curious. The servings that are given, Earlene's or Wilton's, are for a one layer 2" cake right?? So, for example, she says a 6" serves 8. That would be for one layer right? So if it's a 2-layer 6" it should serve 16?? That doesn't seem right but I'm just curious.

Thanks so all of your help!

I use the Wilton charts.

The servings are predicated on layer cake slices. icon_smile.gif Two cake layers are required to make a layer cake.

Link to all four Wilton cake preparation and servings charts:

Pick the chart of your choice....3rd column from left is number of servings (2 Layer) by pan size.

I also use the wilton wedding chart. Here's a link to my website that shows how I cut the cake to achieve those servings. I actually get about 10% more cake than the wilton chart shows and I have people asking me for a smaller piece.
