Hi all,
I was just wondering if you all have ever baked and decorated a cake that is 6 - 8- 10" rounds, ( each layer being 2" cake torted only). THis is for a sweet 16 cake and she don't need that many servings and would like it done in fondant. Does this sound like it would look okay. I keep imagining this smushed looking cake. What do you all think. Thanks Nikki

It really depends on the decorating you plan to do on the cake. If you keep the design simple and don't overload the cake with decorations it should look fine. Too many decorations may take the focus off the cake since each tier is so short. You can always stack the cake pans on top of each other and that is exactly what your cake will look like.

This may not be the best cake, but I did this one for my sister's b-day. It's teh exact dimensions you said w/fondant.
