i'm doing my first 3tier wedding cake and am feeling a bit stressed anyway but i just went to pipe some ri pretties round the cake and noticed a tiny speck of black on my fondant so i got a damp tissue to wipe it off and suddenly these black specks were everywhere. thought i was going nuts for a while but then realized that the anti slip mat on my turntable had been picked up on the cake (turntable is 10inches cake is only 8 ) i couldn't get them off they seem to become imbedded into the icing so now i have to recover it. just thought i'd pass this little pain in the a** episode on so it didn't happen to anyone else.

Sorry to hear about your cake disaster, but wanted to thank you for the warning. It's appreciated. Sure hope you're able to fix the cake without too many headaches.
