Ok...sign me up too. I think these are really unique. I have a few other 3D cutters already (Santa, Christmas Tree, Rudolph) so these will be a nice addition.

GeminiRJ Posted 7 Apr 2008 , 11:50am

Jennbryanfrank, the kits will have 5 cutters (2 body styles, a round 3" base, and two feet styles). An instruction booklet will be included that has a picture of each 3D cookie and complete directions for baking, decorating, and assembling the cookies. You have a choice of two booklets: the first has 14 designs...13 animals and a clown (which is my avatar) and the second will have 12 designs that are holiday/people. I'm hoping to offer them to CC members for around $10 (plus shipping), though the final cost will be determined once all the kit pieces have been assembled. If you want both booklets, I will be charging only what the printing cost is to me. Hope that explains everything! I will PM everyone on the list as soon as I have the cutters. It's just moving slower on that end than I had planned! And once the cutters arrive, I will have to make sure the quality is okay to proceed to assembling the kits.

don't short yourself either. you've put a lot of work into these. and even if you're planning on giving ccer's a special price make sure you put the real retail price in or on the package. i would love to go to the local cake stores and try to sell some for you. we're a family here!
i think you've really got something here

terrig007 Posted 7 Apr 2008 , 2:00pm

Please put me on the list as well, thanks! icon_biggrin.gif

jennbryanfrank Posted 7 Apr 2008 , 3:55pm

Absolutely!!

I have friends who cringe when I show them a copper cookie cutter and tell them it cost me $15. It's copper, which is expensive, and will last me a lifetime. I love and collect all kinds of cookie cutters. I think it's becoming a lost art. (BTW, these same people pay $5 for a cup of coffee!)

I know what goes into making them and so do the other people on this board. And it's not just the cutters. We're paying for your knowledge and creativity. You've shared with us how you make the cookies. Now you're making it even easier by selling us the cutters so that we don't have to fashion our own. You should get paid!

GeminiRJ Posted 8 Apr 2008 , 11:44am

I will make sure I get paid, but at the same time, without the support and encouragement of the people on this site, I never would've gone forward with this venture. And my interest (okay, obsession) in decorating cookies is directly tied to the creativity and flair shown in the thousands of cookies that you've all shared by posting in the gallery. You've inspired me tremendously, so I don't think it's unreasonable to give these kits to you at a rock-bottom price. I want to say thank-you.

I would like to be on the list too. And by the way $10 for 14 designs? Are you sure???

Congratulations on your innovative idea and the gumption to go for it.

Please add me also! I've just gotten into cookies, but love doing them. These will make a great addition to my "obsession"! Thanksicon_smile.gif

kneadacookie Posted 8 Apr 2008 , 12:44pm

well i certainly hope you're not putting them on the market for $10. your time and creativity are worth $$$ too. even wholesale i would think it would be more than $10.
are you going to take paypal or should we start making out our checks now?!?!?!

JenWith Posted 8 Apr 2008 , 1:37pm

Me too! Put me on that list!!

jen1977 Posted 8 Apr 2008 , 1:53pm

Add me to the list! I think these are adorable!

Melvira Posted 8 Apr 2008 , 2:02pm

GeminiRJ, if I could make a suggestion (other than adding me to the list of interested persons...) it might be easiest for you to have everyone who is interested in this item PM you their personal email address, (or if they are nervous, they can set up a yahoo account just for this purpose! Hehehe) and you could put them all in a distribution list in your email now. Then, when the cutters are ready, you can send out one email to that list which will state that they are ready, what the price is, how to order, etc. Otherwise, if you get 200 interested people, you will have to send 200 PM's here. Plus, as you mentioned, you don't want anyone to give you poo-poo about 'marketing' here on CC. This way, you are totally taking it off the board so you can feel comfortable!!

The cookies in your avatar are just precious... I would totally buy a kit for those!! icon_wink.gif Awesome work! (But does it cost extra to get you to do the actual decorating? I don't think mine would look that good!) icon_lol.gif

*holding hand firmly over Kneada's mouth, despite her flailing*

Ten dollars seems fair!! I mean, for your friends here who helped you get started!! (But definitely jack up the price to the 'outsiders' hehehehehe. Teasing!)

GeminiRJ Posted 8 Apr 2008 , 2:10pm

Melvira, I've seen your work, and you could probably make my decorating skills seem childish! And that Yahoo account is extremely tempting and one I am going to have to seriously consider. As to retail price...I'm leaning towards $16.95 or thereabouts. It would keep them competitive with other 3D cookie cutter kits. Keep in mind, these cutters will be temper coated stainless steel. I think it's a cut above the plastic 3D cutters, personally, but definitely not high-end. I wanted to make them marketable to as many people as possible, and many new bakers would cringe at the more expensive materials.

GeminiRJ Posted 8 Apr 2008 , 2:14pm

Opps, my mistake! It's powder coated stainless steel! (Less labor intensive than to polish the steel).

Ursula40 Posted 8 Apr 2008 , 2:35pm

Oh and please tell me I can pay by credit card or paypal, remember your friends overseas too, i'm in China and definately interested

Melvira Posted 8 Apr 2008 , 3:19pm

$16.95 is still a steal! But I think it's fantastic that you want to keep it accessible to more people! Some people don't want to invest that much in tools, especially if they are a novice and not really interested in doing it too much.

And the day I match your cookie skills is the day I am actually hiring Nancy'sFancy to do the work and claiming it as my own! icon_wink.gif

Amia Posted 8 Apr 2008 , 3:47pm

Your cookies are adorable! I want to be on the list!!! And I think $16.95 is more than reasonable. I don't think anyone on here would cringe at that price...though offering it at a discounted rate is awfully nice too icon_biggrin.gif If you decide to go the email route, let us know so we can PM our email addy's to you!

nanny4 Posted 8 Apr 2008 , 3:56pm

Sounds wonderful! Please add me to your list!! You'll do great too.

Robin143 Posted 8 Apr 2008 , 4:05pm

I would really like to be put on a list as well. And i am keeping my fingers crossed for you.

sugarhigh384 Posted 8 Apr 2008 , 4:32pm

Ahhh Man I am always a step behind on this!!! I want on the list too. This is soo awesome for you. I can barely keep my "caking" area organized so for you to plan and design your own 3-d cookie cutters is awesome!! Good Luck! thumbs_up.gif

SadEyes Posted 8 Apr 2008 , 5:17pm

Ohh, Nancy'sFancy! Like I have a prayer of ever being that good! Look at my cookies...it's just simple flood work and outlining. I drool over yankeegal's and kneadacookie's creations, too. Not to mention paulkjan's creative flair in arranging her cookie bouquets. So many artists on this site to offer inspiration!

marion123 Posted 8 Apr 2008 , 6:04pm

Hello.. Could you please add me on the list also? This is so great.. Congrads!!
