icon_smile.gif The recipe I use tends to become a little to dry, and when I try to smooth it out, it leaves visble cracks that will not smooth out. Sometimes the edges of the cake will not look so smooth. Recipe used is similar to Wilton's , any help on recipes or special tools---SOMETHING PLEASE!

Maybe the problem has something to do with the change in Crisco (eliminating much trans fat). Anyway, you can try Indydebi's recipe which incorporates the product Dream Whip (which adds in some fat to make up for the loss of fat in the new Crisco) or just go to the recipes section and there are a ton of BC recipes there. I'm sure you can pick one of those.

Good luck.

I make the Cake Doctor's Buttercream. All butter, no lard! It does melt though, if it's too warm.
