Can anyone tell me how this is done? I'm going to be doing this for the first time and I don't want to mess it up. Any hints and recommendations will be appreciated.

I draw up the pattern I want, then laminate it. Cut out the design. Use a sharp knife (non-serrated) or exacto blade to do the cutting. I've seen where others have recommended having the dough cold, but the recipe I use works just fine at room temp. If the edges of the cookie get ragged, I smooth them out with my finger. It'll take you longer, naturally, than when using a cutter, but you'll get exactly the shape you want.

I use NFSC and I have to freeze them before cutting- otherwise I get really raggedy edges. Good luck!! icon_smile.gif
