Can anyone come up with a good idea? I've been asked to make a cake for my department manager who will have been with our company for 40 years next week. All I can come up with is a big 40 and some balloons or a more complicated cake with 2 models - 1968 next to a desk with model 9in 60's clothes) with piles of paper and 2008 next to a model at a desk with a PC.

It's an office job, the cake is to feed 25-30 and I've been told I can decorate it as I please. I only do fondant covered cakes - buttercream scares the life out of me!

I'd greatly appreciate any and all ideas no matter how complicated or simple!
