to stick fabric to fabric use either of two products

Stitch Witchery

or

Wonder Under.

wonder under is a bit easier to use if very concerned about perfect edge as you bond it to the smaller item first and then trim to the exact size. then you bond it to the larger item. -- it's the stuff often use to put the big appliqués on sweatshirts and the like.

you could glue a strip of wax paper to your thin ribbon....and then attatch the two ribbons with buttercream. If you try with just buttercream (no wax paper) you might get "grease" spots on your thin ribbon....You could give it a try with just buttercream or Royal icing..... if it makes spots, you'll probably want to go with the wax paper as well icon_smile.gif HTH!!!

I tried with the royal icing as i had already put the first ribbon on the cake.
seems to be staying put so far icon_wink.gif
