My customer would like a plain white iced cake for her husband. She doesn't want any special decoration on it, but I'd like to add a little something. I was thinking a thick piped border and his initials in black. Anyone out there w/ suggestions? Pictures?

Maybe think of what you see in bakery cases for ideas of so-called "non-decorated" cakes. At the bakery I used to work at, our stock cakes were usually side-coated and had thick borders like you thought of already. Or we did what we called a chenille cake, which was basically just random thick scrollwork on the sides. I like the idea of the initials on the top.

I like the border and initial idea too. Maybe outline the border with the initial color too?
