Did anyone pick up the April 15 issue? Who entered the Silly Cake contest? Woman's Day called me back in January to say my gum ball machine cake would be in their April issue. I was surprised to see it out today. I bought three copies......over kill I know, but it's the first time I ever entered a contest. icon_biggrin.gif

Hi,
I get that magazine too and knew your cake the second I saw it! I remember you posting about it before. I hope a bunch of us from Cake Central will enter this year. I think iinfo about entering it won't be posted online at their website until March 25th though.

You only got 3? I would have bought the store out if it were me!

Congratulations! You deserve to win. That cake is awesome!

Hey, I'm in Orange County too. Right by South Coast Plaza. Were are you?

Do you ever go to Sweet Arts of Orange County Cake Club?

You know... I got my Woman's Day yesterday, just looked over the cakes they showed and thought to myself "that gumball machine is might cute"!

Great job on that! A lot of us have used opaque white icing since we could think of an alternative. Using a plastic bowl was such a great idea. Beautiful work and good innovation. Kudos!

I showed the picture to DH this morning, and he goes" That's a cake?" Great job!! Your directions were also very easy to follow. Made it sound easy!
