I am wanting to practice on a dummy cake but have no idea how to make one. Can anyone help?
I usually just buy a polytyrene (foam) dummy cake from my local cake decorating supply shop. you can then cover them in the same way as a real cake. If I'm covering with fondant I leave off the buttercream and just moisten the foam with water to make it stick. I've never done a dummy buttercream cake, but I imagine it would be exactly the same as with real cake, it probably wouldn't last as long though.
