I just bought a 2lb thing of white satin ice to try it out. I bought it from Global Sugar. I pulled a bit out this evening, tinted it and worked it a little and liked it a lot.

I have a couple questions though and am hoping someone can help me out.

1) Can you buy Satin Ice in any stores (like Michael's or something)?
2) How much does the 2lb cover? I need enough for a 6" and 10" and don't really want to have to do another online order.
3) It seemed to dry out quicker than my homemade MMF. Any tricks to keeping it moist while coloring it, rolling it and applying it?

Thanks so much!

I wish my Hobby Lobby or Michaels carried anything other than the Wilton fondant. icon_sad.gif

Your local cake supply shop might carry it. That's where I started buying it, then found www.intotheoven.com and it's 50% cheaper than my local store! Shipping to me (from Illinois to Ohio) was 3 days.

Use shortening to roll it out versus PS. It will help with the drying factor. There is a usage chart on the SI website, www.satinfinefoods.com .
