Has anyone made a football? would be be best to make it out of rice krispies? or would it be easier to have it be made out of something non-edible? has anyone make a cake with this?

I've seen lots of football cakes and also I myself made football mini-cakes (think: cupcakes but w/o the wrapper). Did you look in the galleries, I've seen a few great footballs in there and at least one AMAZING one (it was a stand-up football that couldn't have looked more real if it was found on the field).

As to whether or not you want it to be cake or rkt I think that would depend on how big you want it to be and whether or not, among other issues, you want that much cake! Also I'd imagine that if you wanted to do a big football standing cake you might want to consider some sort of internal support system.
