Does anyone have any cake or cookie recipes without milk or eggs? One that you've tried and is pretty good? I'm supposed to bring a treat into my daughter's preschool to celebrate her 1/2 birthday. A little girl in her class is allergic to both milk and eggs (peanuts too, but I don't think that should be a problem.) I know that usually when people bring in things she can't have they have backup snacks for her. But I hate excluding her. If I can find a good recipe that she can have, I'd like to try it. How sad if everyone has cupcakes and she's eating teddy grahams.

Thanks!

I believe (check the label) that cake mixes do not necessarily contain dairy. You can make them without the eggs. Just leave the eggs out. It provides an interesting but very tasty result. It should be fine for cupcakes. maybe you could sprinkle them with colored jimmies before you bake them-no icing required?

Thanks JoAnn! Actually, I've checked. Cake mixes do have milk in them. I think I found one without milk, but it had eggs. I'm not worried about the icing. The recipe I have I can easily do without either.

I have made this wacky cake with success:

Here are links to eggless cake recipes (which I haven't tried):

I've never had the occasion to make the above eggless cakes.

Thank you Jan! The epicurious cake sounds like it might work. I might even try a trial run to see how it tastes before I send it. Thanks again!

There is a company called Cherrybrook Kitchen that makes cake mixes that meet your requirements. I have 1 son allergic to peanuts and 2 of my triplets are allergic to milk and eggs....ugh...it is very nice of you to try and work around her allergy but don't sweat it if you can't. My sons don't really care although I do let them have cake made with eggs and milk since they aren't sooooo allergic that it causes anything more than ezema. Good luck! They also make a frosting mix and are all natural. The website is www.Cherrybrookkitchen.com My SuperTarget carries them.
