This thread is cracking me up! If anyone needs a new outlook on Valentine's day, do what my DH and I do. We found doing gifts to difficult, same ol' stuff, plus it is so close to Christmas and my birthday that we did away with gifts. Instead we take turns each year planning a day or activity that we get to spend together. With 3 little kids and one on the way, our time alone is never. Depending on the activity, it could happen on Vday or that weekend.
One year I took him to a dinner theater. This year he planned a day of cross country skiing and a late lunch. Sometimes it costs money, sometimes it doesn't, its the time we get to spend together that matters and we are making memories at the same time!
