I am making a Cello cake next week and thought I would see if anyone on the forum has ever done a Cello cake. Does anyone have any ideas or pointers on constructing a Cello cake? thanks.
Well, there are violin cakes in the gallery. Perhaps you could adapt one of them:

Yes, the violin cake pics should be a lot of help to you. You would have to do is make a slightly longer neck, and put a stand on the bottom, take off the chin rest. And the belly of a cello is slightly wider at the bottom, where the belly of a violin is narrower.
I have attached a pic that I found in a search I just did for you, comparing the two together.

Cripes, I though this was a new recipe - must start thinking out of cooking....
Glad you got your answer!
dear friend, I'm writing from Italy. I'm supposed to make a cello cake for a cello party my daughter is goint to take part to and I felt a little bit desperate when I read your message. Could i ask you if you could give me any suggestions? I'm just a determinated mother, not a professionist but I would really manage to make it. How about the fact that the cello neck is not horizontal to the body? did you make the little pieces in gum paste? how about the strings and fixing them? Thank you in advance for any advice anna maria. just in case you need it, my e-mail address is [email protected] and thanks again
