I went onto freecycle.com through YaHoo and ask if anyone had any cake decorating supplies. I received an email for 103 tips with cases. Of course I jumped on it. It is so great! I don't know what 3/4 of them are even for!
Just thought I'd share.

Go to Yahoo.com and then groups. Search for freecycle and see if it comes up. That's how I did it.

the website is actually www.freecycle.org the extension after the period is very important, .com pulls up something I would not trust, and .org pulls up the right sight. I have heard good things about this site.

How fun! I just got a really good deal on supplies myself. A friend of mine was getting rid of all her old decorating supplies so I SCORED!!!

I got at least 50 Wilton tips, 12 couplers, an impression set, cake plate, 3 icing bags, a tip box, 3 yearbooks from the 70's , flower nail and a couple candy molds. I was going to do a bridal shower cake for her so she asked if we just trade and call it even. Works for me!!

Well if you get the Wilton book on the use of tips, you will know what you can do with them!
Good for you, nice to hear someone get such a great find!

I too have found great items from Freecycle. I have received several spatulas, variety of icing colors, turntable, cake pans, piping gel, etc.
This is a great way to get in touch with people who used to decorate cakes, but no longer has a need for the supplies for wahtever reason. This is how I began to build up my supplies when I first got started. Saved me some money!

Wow! Gotta check it out! I've been getting most stuff off of eBay.

Dannie Posted 8 Aug 2005 , 3:18pm

Just thought I'd chime in...the actual web site address to sign up for Freecycle is www.freecycle.ORG.

Good luck!
