Remembrance Day / Veterans' Day
(From Wikipedia): Remembrance Day (Australia, Canada, United Kingdom), also known as Poppy Day (Malta and South Africa), Veterans Day (United States), and Armistice Day (France, New Zealand, and many other Commonwealth countries; and the original name of the day internationally) is a day to commemorate the sacrifice of veterans and civilians in World War I, World War II, and other wars. It is observed on 11 November to recall the end of World War I on that date in 1918. The observance is specifically dedicated to members of the armed forces who were killed during war, and was created by King George V of the United Kingdom on 7 November 1919 (possibly upon the suggestion of Edward George Honey to Wellesley Tudor Pole, who established two ceremonial periods of remembrance based on events in (1917).
I think these would tie-in as well:
Aviation History Month
Native-American Heritage Month
World Peace Day - November 17

OR
November 13â19 is Children's Book Week
It would be fun to re-create your favorite children's books and/ or characters!
How about âNovember Holidays/Eventsâ theme. People could pick the day they want to portray.
A few items that are listed on my calendar are:
All Saints Day
All Souls Day / Defunctsâ Day / Day of the Dead
Guy Fawkesâ Day
Veterans Day
Mexican Revolution Day
Thanksgiving Day
And my favorite⦠The autumn leaves are falling day.
All of those ideas sound great...I like the idea of doing children's books. I'm hoping to actually be able to get my act together and participate this month!!

I like this. There seems to be so much going on this month. I completely forgot DOD and I just made sugar skulls last week!
I didn't mean for the books week idea to come off as offhand. I had a link to share with information about the history and completely forgot to add it. I couldn't decide which idea I liked better. Veterans' Day / Remembrance Day are so solemn and CBW is so much fun. I didn't know which CC's would prefer. Here is the link for CBW: http://www.cbcbooks.org/cbw/history.html
Next year Children's Book Week moves to May.
How about anything as long as it is a 3D cookie?? I think those are great- and we could all use the inspiration!!
