Fondant Vs Gumpaste

When making figurines do you prefer Fondant or Gumpaste and why. I see flowers being done in gumpaste but more of the figurines done in fondant.

Gumpaste is more often used for flowers, it can roll thinner and dry harder and faster than fondant.

Fondant allows more modeling time and doesn't dry as hard and fast.

50/50 gp and fondant is often used for a little of both, dries a little faster and a little firmer.
