I am trying to make red MMF. I have put red, orange and pink in it trying to get a good true red. No matter what I do I just get a pinky red color. Any ideas on what else can be done. Will it darken up as it sets?

Best bet is satin ice!

I have successfully made red mmf though. You really need to add the red (americolor works well) to the melted marshmallows and reduce the amount of water you put into it. It still might come out a little weird though.

I've only made small amounts (for cookies) of red and used Americolor as well. Yes, it does darken as it sits, but not sure how much you need it to darken yet.

Good luck! (buy a tub of red Satin Ice so that you have it for next time. icon_smile.gif )
