Need Help Covering Head In Fondant!

I have a red power ranger cake that I am doing for friday. It is one that uses a dummy head and neck and then the shoulders are cake. I don't have any problem with acctually covering the head, but it is the covering the head and neck and making it flow with the rest of the cake. Do I Cover the head and neck and then set it on top of the already fondant covered cake? I am just not sure how to go about it. TIA

When I did my spiderman cake I cover the head and place on top of the cake.
