I've never done one, but I will be trying to do one this week so I would love any tips or suggestions also.

Hi,

I'm also doing my first topsy turvy cake in a few weeks. After reading all the disaster stories I'm scared to death. Let me know if you find any more useful info or tips. So far I've heard it's best to start with a dense cake (pound) and not to taper the base too much for your first time. Also, the support system of a million dowel rodsicon_smile.gif Good luck, let me know how it goes!
