My mom lives by herself in Las Vegas. She doesn't bake at all, and I thought it would be nice to send her some pumpkin spice cake balls for her birthday. Do cake balls have to be kept cold? I use creme brulee coffee creamer in mine and dip them in white chocolate. I plan on over-nighting them. I can always get dry ice and one of those styrofoam coolers like QVC uses when they ship food, but if I can get away with not having to do that I would much rather not have to go through the trouble.

Thanks!

Once the cake is dipped in chocolate, in increases the risk for mold inside the closed case of chocolate. However, if you freeze them before shipping, and send them as quickly as possible, they should be fine. Just be sure they stay refrigerated on arrival. The could probably be re-frozen if needed.

Really!?!? I had no idea.

I guess to be safe, I should do the dry ice/cooler idea-don't want my mom opening up moldy cake balls for her b-day icon_eek.gif!

Thanks!
