I have had a batch of cake balls in and out of the fridge for about 2 weeks. They still taste ok, but I was wondering if I should go ahead and pitch them? Any ideas??
My guess is it will depend on what you used in them. There are so many variations out there. What did you use and approx how much to make them, are they dipped or anything?
If it were me, I'd probably pitch them. I wouldn't eat cake that was 2 weeks old, even in the fridge. Of course, it probably wouldn't last that long in my house LOL!!
The first batch was made with maraschino cherry juice, the second made with caramel flavoring, and the third was made with Amaretto.
i think the cherry juice has a preservative in it. alcohol is a preservative and if the carmel flavoring has alcohol in it....well that too.
