Has anyone ever had the 2 together? I read in a post somewhere that cream cheese icing is horrible with this particular red velvet cake recipe. I have been asked to make a red velvet cake with cream cheese icing for Saturday. And I have never had red velvet. So I'm not sure what it should taste like.

Here's the recipe that I use for Red Velvet cake and cream cheese frosting. It is wonderful! The cake is very moist with just a whisper of chocolate and the cream cheese frosting is just the right touch. I've never had a complaint yet.

I agree...please use another cake recipe if you plan on using a cream cheese frosting.
