I am a great fan of your work. Perfect and flawless!! My question is, do you make the mums on your newest fall cakes directly on the cake or on a nail? If you use a nail, how do you get them so big? Mine always come out very small.

I posted instead of PMing because I thought others may be interested in your answer.

Thanks,
Susan

Thank you all for your nice compliments!!!

suzylynn58, I make the mums on a nail. If you want make a big mum, then you pip more and more petals until them full the nail.

plbennett_8, sorry, I don't understand your question.

I used grass tip to make the Pine leaves in this cake.

Thanh Thanh, your work is amazing. I'd love to watch you work, especially how you get your icing so smooth.

Thanh Thanh... Wow...love the Pine Needles! icon_biggrin.gif On the leaves on your fall cakes, did you use a toothpick, or paint brush to "pull" the brown and green colors through your leaves? They look 3D and very real with the different colors... thumbs_up.gif I'm a serious newbie, and trying to learn from the greats here on CC icon_smile.gif
