I normally don't charge more than $20-$25 to rent stands or fountains. Deposits I charge what it would cost me to replace the item. If I do a cake and it calls for a specific setup I will waive the stand fee but not the deposit, as long as it comes back in the same condition that is was when I dropped it off. Does this make sense? I try not to nickel and dime people to death. I do charge deposits on all my stuff. I hope this helps. icon_biggrin.gif

The only equipment I rent is cake stands - I rent them for $30 and ask for a $100 deposit. I collect the deposit as a separate check which I do not deposit, and I return to the customer when the stand is returned to me in good condition within one week of the wedding. Never had a problem!
