I've researched through CC regarding this matter, and I keep getting mixed opinions.

I have a wedding cake to make next weekend, it will be held INDOORS at a big restaurant (nicely air conditioned).
My little prob though is that the bride asked for fresh strawberries & whipped cream cake.
I always make it, but this is my first time it's going to "sit out".
My whipped cream is very stabilized...

Has anyone done this before? Leaving a perishable cake out during the reception without any problems? I have to deliver the cake at 6PM (the restaurant is only 15 minutes away), they plan to cut it at 9:30pm - so it'll sit out for about 3.5-4 hours.

I've read people saying it'll totally be fine, as long as it's nicely chilled.
I remember my sisters cake awhile back was made with fresh fruit & whipped cream, and it also sat out during reception but it was fine.

Any thoughts/stories/experiences?
I would greatly appreciate it, thank you!

I've done whipped cream filled cakes with non-dairy whipped topping, (Pastry Pride,) and never had a problem. I don't know about stabilized whipped cream that is dairy, though.
