I am teaching myself how to make gumpaste tulips and am having a problem on how to make the stems, since tulip stems are sort of thicker than most - almost like tubes. Can someone tell me how to do the stems for the tulips?

Thanks,

I would wrap some strips of kitchen paper around the stem and then taping it, this thickens the stem.

pipe cleaners. just cut them to length after you finish the flower and tape 2-3-4 or more (depending on what you are going for) and fastne on and wrap with floral tape.
