My Joann.com order for a set of 3" deep Wilton rounds was backordered yesterday (nice of them to still ship the $6 item and then charge $8 shipping) ....

Are there any good online shops? Visited www.cakedeco.com , but didn't like that they don't display shipping charges before you click on "order". I need the pans, some columns/seperator plates (clueless on what to buy for that!), cake fillings, fondant tools (the new Wilton roller/embosser looks cool!).

Sorry if this question is redundant ... thanks for any help! Best,

Jennifer

I've ordered from cakedeco.com (Pfeil and Holing) several times. The shipping has always been just what UPS charges and quite reasonable. Since I am in California and they are in New York, I think anywhere else in the country could only be even more reasonable. I think their prices are really good, so paying shipping has been worth it. If you order over $150.00 worth of stuff, I believe they will ship for free, but several very heavy items are exempt from the free shipping offer--like buckets of fondant, for example.

I've also ordered from Sugarcraft.com When both Pfeil and Holing and Sugarcraft have the same thing, it is almost always less expensive at Pfeil and Holing, but if one is close to you and one far, I suppose that could make a difference because of shipping. Sugarcaft also carries alot more specialty cutters and tools and such.

I have the Wilton Cutter/Embosser. It isn't as wonderful as I thought it would be. I thought the patterns looked kind of silly when I tried them. Then again, maybe I've been cutting my fondant and gumpaste too thick and I'll like it better now that I know how to do it thinner. For cutting, I've liked the FMM multiribbon cutter better than the Wilton, though I'm beginning to think a ruler and knife is my cutter of choice.

Just my $.02.

sugarcraft.com ships quick to us, pattycakes.com, bakedeco.com "Kerekes" and thebakerskitchen.com but they are all within 3 states from me.

i swear by countrykitchensa.com for my supplies. they are reasonably priced and very quick to deliver your things! if i remember correctly you're able to see your shipping charges before you commit to buy anything too. i've also used pattycakes.com a couple times and had good luck with them too but countrykitchens had a bigger selection of what i wanted. good luck! thumbs_up.gif

I get most of my supplies from Do it with icing, they are in my city. But in the rare event that she is out of what I need and has to order it I check with country kitchens and kitchencraft too for pricing and shipping time (If I am under a time constraint). Nice thing about Do it with Icing is the always FREE advise!!!! Linda is great for this, even if you are not buying anything. I can't say that about the others. icon_biggrin.gif
