I am in desperate need of a recipe that was featured in Sept. 12th Womans Day Magazine. It is for the apple cupcakes featured on the cover. Both my mother and I have thrown our copies away!! If anyone still has this issue and can post the recipe I would get forever indebted!! TIA.

Is this the one?

Wormy Apple Cupcakes

Makes: 12

1 1/2 cups whipped vanilla frosting (from a 12-oz can)
Red paste (icing) or gel food color*
12 unfrosted cupcakes
Stems: 3 small unwrapped Tootsie Roll candies, cut lengthwise in quarters
Leaves: 12 gumdrop spearmint leaves
12 gummy worms

You also need: a 1-qtsize plastic ziptop bag and a drinking straw

1. Tint frosting red. Spoon into the plastic bag, snip tip off 1 bottom
corner and pipe outline of apple on top of each cupcake. Pipe frosting within outline to fill, then spread frosting evenly with a small spatula or back of a teaspoon.

2. Press a Tootsie Roll stem and gumdrop leaf onto each apple.

3. Worm hole: Insert drinking straw through frosting into cupcake, then remove. Place each worm in hole.

Its not that one but thanks for posting!

The cupcakes are red and orange and have a fall leaf on each one (they are the cupcakes featured on the cover). The recipe is on one of the last pages of the magazine.

Thanks for your responses! I have tried both libraries in my town and can you believe BOTH copies are missing!!! I have also looked at the website and they don't post all of the recipes in the magazine (then they wouldnt have any subscribers).

I looked for my magazine but I think I threw it away this weekend -and I never throw them away!!! I found on their website where you can see the magazine cover but I cannot find the recipe, what is the exact name of the recipe? If you know that then you may be able to find it under the recipe search. Good Luck, let us know if you find it!

Thanks for checking Melan. My mom never throws her magazines away either (so I was SURE I would be able to find a copy). She has Aug. and Oct issues- not Sept. Go figure! I dont remember the exact name of the recipe either. I just figured that with all the women on this site that someone may still have either copy.

I will keep you posted!
