Hi. I am making 750 cupcakes for 2 schools. The cupcakes have to be lactose and peanut free. That i am aware, Duncan Hines is peanut free but i have to have a receipe for the icing that has to be lactose. Can anyone help me out please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just use either all shortening or shortening/margarine or all margarine when making frosting - not butter. (Must be Fleischmann's unsalted.)

Substitute water for any milk called for in recipe.

I thought I read recently that Duncan Hiens was made in a factory that may contain peanuts. You might want to check the box to be sure.

Here's a post from May 2007 (allergy chatboard) that indicates DH cake mix is not processed in a plant that shares equipment with peanuts:

Also, I checked a box on DH yellow cake and didn't see that warning.
