Milk Vs. Water In Buttercream Icing

does anyone know if it makes a difference in the taste if u use milk instead of water in buttercream. i have only made it with water and i think it could be a little sweeter or anyone what i could add to make it just a tad sweeter

I don't think it makes a big difference in sweetness, but milk or cream makes it smoother I think. You might try adding other flavorings or I think some people use the flavored liquid coffee creamers in their frosting.

If I use a creamer in my cake mix I will also use it to enhance my icing. My best advice to you would to just experiment with different things until you find something you like.

I've never tried mine with water but I used to use milk. I started using half and half about 6 mos. ago though and found it gave the bc a creamier taste thumbs_up.gif
