I made a strawberry shortcake this weekend but it was too thin. The pan says use one pack two layer cake mix. Can anyone please tell me how much batter that is. Are these the standard cake mix. I used 4.5 cups batter but the cake was too thin.Thanks. citrusgirl.

What I have read is that a standard two layer cake mix is 4 - 6 cups of batter......I make the majority of my cakes from scratch so I'm not sure how many cups I make.....I generally fill the pan about 2/3 - 3/4 full and it has always worked for me. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.
