OK - I am doing my first large stacked cake (& 3 sheet cakes) for a 60th wedding anniversary (for my aunt & uncle). I ordered/received the impression mat.... but don't want to do that. I have decided that I think I will do basketweave on the tiered cake.... I know I have seen basketweave done with different tips (I have done basic basketweave and also basketweave across with a tip 5 going down the sides of the cake) I would like something a little different.... does someone have tip numbers/ideas for me? I am starting to really worry about these cakes!!! Any help will be appreciated!!! THANKS!!!!!!

Combine 47 & 7,
Use just tip 47 but alternate the sides (flat&serrated)
Combine 16 & 47,
Use just tip 16
Use tip 98 & 112

If you are using colors on the cake, incorporate those in the basketweave. Use white for the horizontal lines (like a #47) then use a tip #3 or #4 tip to do three vertical lines in alternating colors. I did a Christmas basketweave where the three colors were red, green, and yellow. I've also done an Easter cake using pink, purple, pink vertical lines. It really adds interest!
